Our Volunteers...
come to us with all kinds of skills, brilliant ideas, and a desire to give back to the community in supporting the Heritage Gift Shop's mission. Our volunteer staff includes people from every age group, every background, and every experience, working together to build the Jordan Museum's home for our local heritage. Some of us like to greet and sell to customers in the shop, some of us love to merchandise the store and buy new products every season, some of us donate our time to do the accounts and paperwork, some of us make fudge and preserves, and some of us just like to help at anything that needs to be done.
Volunteer work in the Heritage Gift Shop can provide you with an opportunity to meet people from all over the world, gain valuable experience, and make new friends in your community.
Are you new to the area? In need of new job skills? Looking for a way to volunteer that lets you use your skills enjoyably?
If you're in need of some new employment skills or experiences to add to your resume, we offer a chance to learn and contribute, in-the-shop, at your own pace, and on your own schedule. New Canadians can also acquire "Canadian work experience" through donating volunteer time in our shop.
If you'd like to help, we'd love to meet you. We invite all interested adult and student volunteers to come in and experience what it is to volunteer in our shop. If you like the experience and want to stay on with us, you can select your own hours as you see fit. We're grateful for your contribution!
We need volunteers for every day of the week--so you can choose the times that would be best for you. We recommend signing on for specific time slots during the month so you can plan your schedule more easily around working in our store. You choose the days and times which work best for you.
We will provide full training and support (you will always work with a partner) so your experience will be pleasurable. Volunteers immediately enjoy a 20% discount in our store.
